I would love to be able to do something like that': Liam Hemsworth reveals brother Chris paid off their parents' debts when he made it in Hollywood

He and his two brothers are three of the best-known Australian exports in Hollywood.

But Liam Hemsworth has proved stardom hasn't gone to their heads as he revealed his middle sibling Chris used his new-found fortune to pay off their parents' debts.

Talking to The Independent, he said: '[My father] called my brother Chris back and said, "I don't know how to feel. Since I left home, I have had debts and I thought I'd be paying them off until I died and have this weight hanging over me, and now to have them completely cleared".'

'They are so happy now and able to spend more time with us. I would love to be able to do something for my parents like that,' he finished.

There's no arguing that The Hunger Games actor is in a position to repay his parents' kindness after accumulating an impressive sum for his role as Gale Hawthorn in the four-part fantasy series.

He was estimated to be worth $82 million, by People with Money, this month.

That figure is bound to increase after securing the leading role in By Way of Helena and a supporting part in Independence Day: Resurgence which will be released later this year and in June next year, respectively.

The Hemsworth brothers were born in Melbourne, Australia, to Leonie - who is an English teacher - and social-services counsellor Craig.

They were raised both in their birth city and in the Outback in Bulman, Northern Territory and Phillip Island - where they spent a lot of time surfing together as youngsters.
