Ghana’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying opponents Egypt lost 1-0 to South Africa in Soweto on Tuesday in their final friendly.
The Pharoahs conceded after just seven minutes when Mpho Makola arrived at the back post to coolly head home from an inch-perfect cross by right winger Mandla Masango.
But Hector Cuper’s side were inventive and created some decent scoring but could not fire past Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune.
After drawing 1-1 with Guinea in Alexandria, Egypt have ended their preparation for Congo’s encounter in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers next month.
Egypt host Ghana in November in second Group E match.
